For those of us who spend our days connected to the Internet, whether we’re blogging, emailing, tweeting, Facebooking or simply observing, it’s easy to spend time in our various online niches and overlook just how massive the Internet really is.
And that’s why this infographic is such an amazing resource. It’s interactive, too, which makes it even more entertaining. Some of the things we were surprised to learn include:
*Internet enemies include North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Burma, where Internet access is limited or even removed in various circumstances. This is a great lesson in perspective, as it’s easy to take our Internet connection for granted.
*Interested in streaming video and other high-speed Internet applications? Head to South Korea, which boasts the world’s best broadband quality.
*There are 152 million blogs on the Internet. Wow.
*Among the fastest-rising Google searches for 2010? None other than that baby-faced crooner himself, Justin Bieber.
Now go forth and explore! And while you’re at it, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the infographic, as well as the most surprising piece of information you discovered while reading it.
